Note to anon: Thanks for the comments. The reply feature is currently not working, so I'm replying here. Anyway, glad you grasped it, as I'd have hated to try to explain it! I guess I was trying to get to some sense of early childhood and how language and experience and personality sort of accrete almost like a geological process. So I was trying to keep it below the surface and steer away from overtly familiar structures... Anyway, many thanks for the comments, and I'm happy that you liked it. Steve.

Thank you for your response. A personal note:
I think it wonderful of you to share your thoughts in such a magical way with us 'non writing' folks. Your poem is responsible for bringing me our a very dark period, reminding me of the sunshine and purity I always had and will continue to have around me. For that I thank you. Keep writing please - I will keep reading.

  13. Well, if I can figure them out. Probably. You wouldn't believe the number of unfinished/unresolved stuff I've got stored as drafts on this blog. Easily three times as many as there are on the outside. Just haven't got time to finish everything. Anyway, thanks again.

    Steve.

Positive or negative - thats very generous of you. I have recently dabbled in a little writing, and sent my poem to a writer in the states. He wrote back to me today with encouraging words, he likes my voice and how my poem develops confidence! Gave me some great pointers on where to take the poem, which of course I have taken on board and will be revising later. I feel very satisfied. Not quite up to your standard, but loving the process.

  16. Good to hear you got some useful and positive feedback. Have you tried posting on poetry forums at all? They can be useful, and you get a lot more reads and critiques.

Here are a couple of URLs you can paste (can't paste links in this comments feature):

    http://www.criticalpoet.com/portal.php

    http://www.criticalpoet.org/forum/portal.php

The second one is rather quiet at the moment.

Thank you for the links you provided, I was subscribing this evening, but is it a poetry site or a porn site??? Or does the site have a hacker, if thats what you call it!

Steve, thank you so much for appreciating the tiny piece I wrote here. I love your stuff, most of which I have to read a hundred times in order to make sense, it never fails to grip. You inspire me and I took a huge leap and posted my first complete poem on the link you provided. I have received positive and useful critique. I am on a journey - a journey of words.

    Peace to you Zecca

  20. Stevers, need your help. Big bad porn bot over at .org. All I can do is delete, but can't ban due to the user not existing. Managing to keep it under control but it is relentless.

zecca, it isn't a porn site, this is a new situation - a bot I do believe that just posts for the sake of it.

Sorry if that is your first welcome there!

No Deb it is not my first visit, I have read a lot of the poetry on that site, no worries for me at all, but some people are a little sensitive! I wasn't sure how to bring the porn stuff to attention, hence my posting a note on here. Thanks for the welcome though!
